Leather animal objets d'art have been a recognized form of decorative craft since the 1930s, produced in a range of scales - from large ottomans and footstools to smaller collectible figurines suited to interior display or gifting. The HANDCRAFTED HORSEHIDE ANIMALS / DACHSHUND continues that tradition, handcrafted by specialist artisans using the same horsehide employed in the production of our leather jackets. After jacket production concludes, premium-grade hides that remain - too small for garment use but too fine to discard - are put to use in a range of leather goods, including these figures.
